How To Make Your Dreams A Reality as a Mom Reading Mentally Drained? 5 Ways to Keep Your Mindset on Point 4 minutes Next 10 tips for successful dating
Note: If you're feeling suicidal or thinking of hurting yourself, our team here at Milano urges you to contact a mental health professional or call the National Suicide Prevention Hotline at 1-800-273-TALK (1-800-273-8255). We love you.

Between living through a pandemic, working day and night to make your dreams a reality, finding the time to drink enough water, creating dope content, saving money, eating healthy and keeping up with the latest fashion trends, we know you must be exhausted, frustrated, and overall, mentally drained.

In fact, according to Mayo Clinic, surveys show a major increase in the number of adults who reported symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression and insomnia during the pandemic, compared with surveys before the pandemic. In other words, life be life-ing, and you are not alone, dreamer. That’s why we came up with these five tips for keeping your mindset sharp during tough times:

Put The Phone Down

Social media can be an amazing place, but it can also be a huge time waster and anxiety inducer. For the sake of your mental health, learn how to limit your screen time. Put yourself on a timer when you open the app and close it once the time is up. The key here is to be disciplined. When you limit your screen time, you’re limiting your exposure to negativity, people and posts that make you feel envious, inadequate, and exhausted.

Ask for Help. You Need It.

One of the main causes of stress is overwhelm. When we have too much on our plates, we tend to feel swamped, which makes us feel mentally drained. To prevent this feeling, ask your tribe for help. No one has ever done every single thing alone, so why should you? You create burnout and you do yourself a disservice when you continuously do things that people can/want to help you with.

Let The Baggage GO!

Many times, we feel drained because we’re using our mental energy to think about and hold onto pain from the past. In times like these, it’s important to remember that these experiences were created to teach us–not control us. Decide what’s truly yours to carry and release the rest. In the words of THE Erykah Badu, ‘You gon’ hurt yo back dragging all them bags like that.’ It’s time to let it go, dreamer.

Relax and Recharge

Hustle culture is real, and while many gurus will tell you to work day in, day out on your dreams, we’re here to remind you that rest is just as important. The road to success requires hard work and rest, not one or the other. Find what relaxes you and fills your cup, then make sure to indulge in it regularly. P.S. If your self care activity involves you being at home, be sure to relax and recharge in style by rocking Milano loungewear pieces. Our Forgiveness and Growth Candles help set the mood too.

Don’t Forget The Tribe

Helping others is a great way to help ourselves. If you have the mental capacity, don’t forget to check on your people to see how you can lighten their load. Pay special attention to those who are always busy, those who seem happy all the time, those who come across as strong, those who go ghost often, those who are always there for others, and those who never ask for any help.
